Equitas is currently seeking applications from organizations around the world to nominate eligible candidates to attend the 33rd annual International Human Rights Training Program (IHRTP). This three week training program to be held during June 3 – June 22, 2012 in Montreal, Canada is intended for human rights workers and educators from non-governmental organizations, National Human Rights Institutions, government bodies and educational institutions.
The goal of the IHRTP is to strengthen the capacity of human rights organizations to undertake human rights education efforts aimed at building a global culture of human rights. The curriculum is based on principles of adult experiential learning in which participants and facilitators engage in a process of mutual teaching and learning.
Equitas with support from Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) is also offering a limited number of bursaries to selected International and Canadian candidates. The bursary includes full tuition fees (including room and board) for the 3-week training program as well as travel expenses. Once eligibility has been determined, the Selection Committee will award the bursaries to the Candidates who best meet the requirements. Due to the limited number of bursaries available, there is no guarantee that the selected candidates will receive funding. Therefore it is strongly recommended that the Candidates immediately begin seeking funding from other sources.
